Influence of welding on aluminium alloy AW6082-T6 strength

چکیده
Comparison of welding influence on structural strength Al-Mg-Si alloy (AW6082-T6), supplied with 10 mm thick sheets, is made. Within the research tension and impact tests joints, made argon-arc friction stir welding, were carried out. During we observed following: plasticity decrease for joint zones, increase weld metal in defects strength.

Feasibility study of friction stir welding of 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with AISI 1018 steel
The present work demonstrates that friction stir welding (FSW) is a feasible route for joining 6061 aluminium (Al) alloy to AISI 1018 steel. The weld has a good weld quality and is free of cracks and porosity. The tensile failure happened at the boundary between the nugget and thermomechanically affected zone of the base Al alloy, indicating that the weld has a higher joining strength. Despite ...
متن کاملLaser Welding of Aluminium Alloy 5083
There are two laser welding mechanisms, keyhole mode and conduction mode. Keyhole welding is widely used because it produces welds with high aspect ratios and narrow heat affected zones. However keyhole welding can be unstable, as the keyhole oscillates and closes intermittently. This intermittent closure causes porosity due to gas entrapment. Conduction welding, on the other hand, is more stab...
متن کاملInfluence of Weld Process Parameters on Material Characterization of Friction Stir Welded Joints of Aluminium Alloy AA6061-T6
Friction stir welding, a solid state innovative joining technique, is widely being used to join aluminium alloys for aerospace, marine automotive and many other applications of commercial importance. FSW trials were carried out using a vertical machining centre (VMC) on AA6061 alloy. The main objective of the present work was to evaluate the weld processing parameter of friction stir weld (FSW)...

متن کاملProblems in Welding of High Strength Aluminium Alloys
The 7XXX series alloys are heat-treatable Al-Zn-Mg or Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloys. They develop their strength by solution heat treatment followed by ageing. In contrast to the 5XXX series alloys, the 7XXX series alloys do not respond favourably to cold work, because they are strengthened almost exclusively by GP zone formation and precipitates which nucleate from the GP zones. Introducing many new disl...
